In this handbook you can read and learn more about forum theatre, forum plays and digital methods. Focus is on the use of the methods with young people in relation to communication skills, vocation and education, but all exercises can be used with other target groups and for other purposes. The handbook also has a series of useful videos illustrating the methods and exercises. The videos are placed in relation to what they illustrate, but for videos on forum plays, go here.
‘About the method’ will introduce in broad terms what the method is about and get an impression of the idea behind the method.
In the section ‘Learning the method’ you will find instructions and inspiration on how to plan and carry out a forum event. You can also watch videos showing how it is done. This is also where you will be introduced to being ‘a joker’ – the joker is the facilitator in forum plays and a very important person.
‘Using the method’ has examples of exercises, as well as materials you can use, when you hopefully will start doing forum plays yourself.
Have a look around to find some inspiration – you can navigate through the menu at the top, or you can start from one end and it will guide you through.
